Happy Veterans Day, Everybody!
Last night at the annual fundraiser for the Historical Society of Baltimore County, we at Batton Builders, Inc. were reminded of how without our country’s veterans protecting our freedoms in the United States, the entrepreneurial spirit our city and county, state and country so enjoys would not be in existence.
The 60th annual fundraiser was held at the fabulous Baltimore Museum of Industry. Many businesses, nationally and internationally known and recognized, are rooted in Baltimore, such as:
- Black and Decker – Tool manufacturer
- Stieff Silver – America’s Oldest Silversmith
- Head Ski – now manufacturers of much more than just skis!
- The B & O Railroad – America’s First Railroad
- Sweetheart Cup Company
We were proud to be sponsors of the event along with other Baltimore businesses which have been in existence for many generations (such Loane Brothers, Inc. and Elgius B von Paris) as well as more recently formed businesses such as Liberty Pure Solutions and non-profits like the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy who call Baltimore “home.”
Our thanks goes out to James Keffer at the head of HSOBC, his entire Board and wonderful volunteers who made the evening so delightful. What a fitting venue to hold the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Historical Society of Baltimore County!
Whether you are a Maryland resident or not, if you have never stepped foot inside the Baltimore Museum of Industry, you are missing out. A cultural highlight of the city! There is a wealth of interesting memorabilia and displays that will take you back to the history of the Light City – Brilliant Baltimore!
