History Repeats Itself

Back in the 1970’s Fred Batton, Jr. constructed many carports, in fact when building contemporary homes became popular and our father built our family’s most modern style home with high ceilings, and open rooms. The backside of the house had nearly ceiling to floor glass on both levels and we had a carport rather than a garage. (right hand side of the picture – where the stone is).

Carports are trending once again, however, now many feature solar heating. Have you ever considered this option? Obviously they are more popular in certain parts of the country where temperatures are more moderate and where building designs are less cookie-cutter traditional.

Here is an article about the impact of solar energy in carports.

Come on back again soon. We enjoy digging through our archives and also keeping up with trends in the building business to share with our clients.
